Remittances from Egyptians working abroad reached a record high of approximately USD 47.3 billion during FY 2025/2026, marking a significant increase of 29.6% compared to around USD 36.5 billion during FY 2024/2025.
The strong growth highlights the continued upward trend in remittances from Egyptians abroad, which represent one of the key sources of foreign currency inflows into the Egyptian economy.
Egyptians’ Remittances Continue Their Upward Trend
Total remittances from Egyptians working abroad rose by approximately USD 10.8 billion during FY 2025/2026 compared to the previous fiscal year, reaching a record USD 47.3 billion, up from around USD 36.5 billion in FY 2024/2025.
The annual increase of 29.6% reflects the continued strong performance of Egypt’s remittance inflows and the sustained growth in transfers made by Egyptians working overseas.
Remittances Reach USD 4.2 Billion in June 2026
The upward trend continued in June 2026, as remittances from Egyptians working abroad increased by 15.6% year-on-year, reaching approximately USD 4.2 billion, compared to around USD 3.6 billion in June 2025.
The continued rise in monthly remittance inflows contributed to the record annual performance, bringing total remittances from Egyptians abroad to USD 47.3 billion during FY 2025/2026.
