Remittances from Egyptians working abroad recorded a significant increase during the first seven months of 2026, reaching approximately USD 29.7 billion from January through July, compared with around USD 23.2 billion during the same period in 2025.
The figures represent an annual increase of 28.1%, highlighting the continued growth in financial inflows from Egyptians working abroad during the period under review.
July Remittances Increase 20% Year-on-Year
Remittances from Egyptians working abroad continued their upward trajectory in July 2026, rising by 20.0% to approximately USD 4.5 billion, compared with around USD 3.8 billion in July 2025.
The monthly increase contributed to the overall growth recorded in remittances during the first seven months of the year.
Continued Growth in Egyptians’ Overseas Remittances
The latest figures show continued growth in remittances sent by Egyptians working abroad, both on a cumulative basis during the January-July period and on a monthly basis in July.
Remittances from Egyptians abroad represent an important source of foreign-currency inflows into the Egyptian economy and provide financial support to families receiving funds from relatives working outside the country.
Remittances Record Higher Levels in 2026
During the first seven months of 2026, remittances from Egyptians working abroad increased to approximately USD 29.7 billion, compared with USD 23.2 billion during the corresponding period of 2025.
In July alone, remittances reached approximately USD 4.5 billion, up from around USD 3.8 billion in July 2025, marking a 20.0% year-on-year increase.
The figures underscore the continued rise in remittances from Egyptians working abroad during 2026 and the growth in financial inflows recorded compared with the same period of the previous year.
