The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has launched the fourth edition of the FinTech Got Talent 2026 competition for university students under the FinYology initiative, organized by FinTech Egypt. The competition seeks to recognize and support innovative projects and groundbreaking solutions in the field of financial technology, in cooperation with the Federation of Egyptian Banks (FEB) and the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI).
The launch reflects the CBE’s continued efforts to empower young talents, strengthen Egypt’s position as a regional hub for financial technology, and build on the achievements recorded during the competition’s previous three editions.
CBE Emphasizes Youth Empowerment and FinTech Innovation
Hassan Abdalla, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, stressed that investing in young talents represents a fundamental pillar of the CBE’s vision for the future of Egypt’s banking and financial sector.
He noted that developing a generation equipped with the knowledge, skills and capabilities required to keep pace with rapid global economic and technological changes is essential to enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of the financial sector.
The competition was inaugurated by Ayman Hussein, First Sub Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, and Abdel Aziz Nossier, Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute, during an event hosted by the CBE and attended by members of the CBE’s leadership, senior representatives of the banking sector and representatives of several Egyptian universities.
Competition Advances Through Multiple Stages
The FinTech Got Talent 2026 competition consists of several stages, beginning with qualifying rounds at the university level and concluding with the selection of the top 11 projects.
The shortlisted teams participated in a comprehensive one-month incubation program at the DMZ Cairo business incubator, where they received technical support, guidance and mentorship aimed at developing their ideas and strengthening their readiness for the final stage of the competition.
The program provided participating students with an opportunity to further refine their innovative solutions and enhance their ability to address real-world challenges in financial technology.

Egyptian Students Continue Strong Regional Performance

FinTech Got Talent Develops Future Financial Technology Leaders
The FinTech Got Talent competition was launched in 2023 as the first competition of its kind in the financial technology sector. It operates under the FinYology initiative, which aims to connect university students with practical applications and provide them with the skills and expertise needed to keep pace with global developments in FinTech.
The initiative also focuses on nurturing students’ creative and innovative capabilities across multiple fields in response to the evolving needs of the labor market.
FinYology Reaches 31 Egyptian Universities
The FinYology initiative currently covers 31 Egyptian universities, with 1,060 projects developed through the participation of nearly 24,000 students.
The projects receive continued support from the Egyptian banking sector, with approximately 27 banks and financial institutions having supported the initiative over the past years.
This broad participation reflects the commitment of the Central Bank of Egypt and the banking sector to developing young talents, encouraging innovation and strengthening entrepreneurship within Egypt’s financial technology ecosystem.
Through initiatives such as FinYology and competitions including FinTech Got Talent, the CBE continues to support the development of a new generation of Egyptian innovators capable of contributing to the future of banking, financial technology and digital transformation.
