MAGNA Developments has announced the appointment of Akram El Sheikh as Head of its Commercial Sector, in a move aimed at supporting the company’s growth plans and strengthening its commercial development and sales operations.
El Sheikh brings more than 22 years of professional experience spanning business development, commercial sector management, industrial investment, real estate investment, and asset management.
His appointment comes as the latest chapter in a diverse career that has taken him across information technology, marketing, consulting, industrial development, business development, asset management, and ultimately real estate development. This broad experience has equipped him with expertise in developing commercial strategies, managing growth, and building strategic partnerships.
Akram El Sheikh: The Commercial Sector Has Become a Strategic Partner
Commenting on his appointment, Akram El Sheikh, Head of Commercial Sector at MAGNA Developments, said that joining the company marks a new phase in his professional career.
He noted that experience accumulated across different sectors becomes particularly valuable when applied to an industry with genuine growth potential, adding that he sees such opportunities in the Egyptian real estate market today.
El Sheikh emphasized that the commercial sector is no longer limited to achieving sales targets. Instead, it has become a key partner in shaping the real estate product itself, understanding customer needs, determining project launch strategies, and building long-term relationships with the market.
From this perspective, he explained that his role at MAGNA Developments extends beyond sales management to helping build an integrated commercial platform that supports the company’s strategic direction during the coming period.
Flexible Commercial Strategy to Address Market Changes
El Sheikh pointed out that the Egyptian real estate market is currently undergoing a phase that requires companies to possess a genuine ability to anticipate market changes rather than simply respond to them.
Accordingly, his focus at MAGNA Developments will be on developing a flexible commercial strategy that balances the company’s objectives with customer needs and evolving market dynamics.
More Than 22 Years of Diverse Professional Experience
Akram El Sheikh’s career includes a series of leadership positions across companies and institutions operating in multiple industries.
He began his professional career between 2005 and 2012 in information technology and digital programming at Oracle, before moving into marketing and marketing consultancy through ACE Marketing Consultancy.
He subsequently worked in business development and planning with several companies operating across the industrial, marketing, and export sectors.
Experience in Industrial Investment and Egypt-TEDA
At the end of 2012, El Sheikh was appointed Business Development Manager at Egypt-TEDA Investment, where he participated in the company’s expansion plans and the development of an area covering up to 7.5 million square meters.
During the same period, he was also part of the team responsible for organizing the commercial aspects of the Chinese President’s visit to Cairo, which included strategic trade agreements between Egypt and China.
Expansion Plans with Polaris Parks
At the end of 2015, El Sheikh joined Polaris Parks Industrial Development as Business Development Manager.
In this role, he contributed to the company’s expansion plans, including the development of an industrial zone in Sadat City covering approximately 2 million square meters.
He also participated in planning a strategic partnership to develop an area of 5.5 million square meters within the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
Development and Asset Management at Cleopatra Group
In 2017, El Sheikh joined Cleopatra Group as Head of Development and Asset Management at Eldorado Industrial Development.
He was responsible for several portfolios related to industrial assets and development, while also working to improve operational efficiency across the group’s real estate and commercial projects.
Akram El Sheikh’s Transition into Real Estate Development
Following his transition into the real estate sector, El Sheikh joined the founding team of Radix Development in 2018 as Head of Business Development.
Following the company’s restructuring, he was appointed Executive Vice President, a position he held until 2024.
From 2024 until mid-2025, he served as Co-Founder and CEO of the company.
Advisory and Executive Roles in the Real Estate Sector
From mid-2025 through the end of the third quarter of 2026, El Sheikh held several advisory and executive positions related to the commercial sector at a number of real estate companies, including Golden View Development, Mass Development, Prop-Commercial, and ARX Development.
He subsequently joined MAGNA Developments as Head of the Commercial Sector at the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2026.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Alongside his extensive professional experience, El Sheikh has obtained several academic and professional qualifications.
In 2008, he earned a Project Management Professional diploma (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI). In 2009, he obtained a Diploma in International Marketing from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Trade Training Center (FTTC).
He also holds an export and international marketing license from the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC).
In 2010, El Sheikh obtained a diploma in Governance and Startups & Entrepreneurship Management through a USAID grant from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo.
In 2012, he earned an Advanced Business Development Certificate from the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC).
Membership in Business Organizations
Akram El Sheikh is a member of the Egyptian Businessmen’s Association and the Egyptian-Canadian Business Association, reflecting the breadth of his professional experience and business relationships across various investment and business sectors.
