Landmark Achievement Reinforces Trust Across Egypt’s Digital Ecosystem
Vodafone Egypt has achieved company-wide ISO/IEC 27001 certification for its entire cybersecurity function, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to protecting customer data and strengthening digital trust. The internationally recognized certification validates the company’s ability to safeguard the communications, financial transactions, and personal data of more than 55 million customers across Egypt.
The achievement demonstrates that cybersecurity at Vodafone Egypt extends beyond individual platforms or technical systems, becoming an integral part of how the entire organization operates, governs risk, and makes decisions.
Cybersecurity Embedded Across the Entire Organization
With the new certification, Vodafone Egypt has established a comprehensive security framework that integrates cybersecurity into operational processes, governance structures, and strategic decision-making across all business functions.
Rather than operating as a standalone department, cybersecurity is now embedded throughout the company’s day-to-day activities, ensuring that security standards are consistently applied across every layer of the organization.
This approach strengthens resilience across Vodafone Egypt’s digital infrastructure and supports the growing demand for secure telecommunications and financial services in an increasingly connected economy.
Protecting Millions of Digital Transactions Every Day
The certification comes at a time when Vodafone Egypt continues to expand its digital footprint. Vodafone Cash now serves more than 28 million wallet holders, while the company’s 5G network supports millions of daily interactions through the widest 5G coverage in Egypt.
As consumers and businesses increasingly rely on digital services for banking, communications, and everyday transactions, robust cybersecurity has become a critical foundation for sustainable digital growth.
Supporting Egypt’s Future as a Digital and AI Hub
The growing importance of artificial intelligence, data centers, and cloud-based services is reshaping the global economy. As Egypt positions itself as a regional hub for digital innovation and data hosting, cybersecurity is becoming a key differentiator for technology providers.
Organizations that can demonstrate independently verified security standards will be best positioned to host AI workloads, manage sensitive data, and deliver mission-critical digital services for businesses and governments.
Vodafone Egypt: Security Is a Strategic Investment for the Next Decade
Commenting on the achievement, Catalin Buliga said:
“Achieving company-wide cybersecurity certification, alongside our already accredited systems and platforms, is a strategic decision that positions Vodafone Egypt for the next decade. As artificial intelligence and data become central to economic growth, security becomes a prerequisite for progress, while trust remains the foundation upon which everything else is built.”
One of the Region’s Most Comprehensive Cybersecurity Certification Portfolios
With the addition of the organization-wide ISO/IEC 27001 certification, Vodafone Egypt now maintains one of the most comprehensive cybersecurity certification portfolios in the regional telecommunications sector.
The company also holds:
- ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27017 certifications for Cloud IaaS and Co-Location environments.
- PCI-DSS certification across its cloud infrastructure and Second Availability Zone.
- PCI-DSS certification for Vodafone Cash, including VCN and Companion Card operations.
- SOC 2 Type II certification validating operational controls across its financial services platform.
Each certification was awarded following rigorous independent third-party assessments, providing customers, partners, and stakeholders with internationally recognized assurance regarding Vodafone Egypt’s security standards.
EGP 125 Billion Investment Powers Secure Digital Infrastructure
This achievement is underpinned by substantial long-term investments in Egypt’s telecommunications and digital infrastructure.
Vodafone Egypt has invested more than EGP 125 billion in network expansion and infrastructure development since its establishment and has committed an additional EGP 20 billion during the current financial year alone.
These investments support the development of resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure capable of meeting increasing digital demands while maintaining compliance with international security standards.
Building a Trusted Digital Future
For businesses operating in an increasingly digital economy, the certification provides confidence that Vodafone Egypt’s telecommunications services, cloud infrastructure, and financial technology platforms are protected by independently validated security frameworks aligned with global best practices.
Through continuous investment in resilient infrastructure, secure cloud environments, trusted financial technologies, and enterprise-wide cybersecurity governance, Vodafone Egypt remains committed to enabling a secure digital future for individuals, businesses, and communities alike.
As digital transformation accelerates across Egypt, the company continues to place trust, security, and innovation at the center of its strategy, helping customers connect for a better future.
