The Egyptian Business Council for International Cooperation (ECIC), headed by Chairman Eng. Moataz Raslan, will participate in a series of high-level strategic meetings and institutional engagements in Tunis, Republic of Tunisia, on June 9–10, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen African economic integration and expand trade and investment cooperation across the continent.
The mission is organized in cooperation with the African Inclusive Markets Excellence Center (AIMEC), chaired by H.E. Youssef Kordofani, and will bring together representatives from leading African economic institutions, business organizations, chambers of commerce, export promotion agencies, and private-sector stakeholders from across Africa.
ECIC Delegation Includes Parliament Members, Export Council Chairmen, and Business Leaders
The ECIC delegation includes distinguished Egyptian parliament members and members of the Senate House, in addition to chairmen of export councils and prominent business leaders representing several strategic sectors of the Egyptian economy.
The delegation represents a wide range of industries including agriculture, food industries, manufacturing, packaging, leather industries, investment, logistics, and business development services, reflecting Egypt’s growing commitment to expanding private-sector engagement and sustainable business partnerships throughout African markets.
Strategic Meetings to Explore African Economic Cooperation Mechanisms
The meetings in Tunisia will focus on exploring practical mechanisms to strengthen economic cooperation among African countries, facilitate market access opportunities, support investment and trade partnerships, and promote sustainable private-sector development across the continent.
Discussions are also expected to address ways to enhance institutional collaboration among African economic stakeholders, encourage cross-border investments, increase intra-African trade, and strengthen the role of the private sector in supporting long-term economic development and regional integration.
Focus on Investment, Trade Partnerships, SMEs, and Youth Empowerment
Among the key topics to be discussed are business matchmaking initiatives, African market-entry mechanisms, investment facilitation frameworks, and SME development programs aimed at supporting sustainable economic growth across African economies.
The meetings will also highlight opportunities related to women and youth economic empowerment, in addition to cooperation prospects in priority sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, renewable energy, healthcare, transportation, digital transformation, and environmental solutions.
Participation of Leading African and Regional Economic Institutions
Participating institutions are expected to include representatives from the African Inclusive Markets Excellence Center (AIMEC), the Union Tunisienne de l’Industrie, du Commerce et de l’Artisanat (UTICA), the Tunisian African Business Council (TABC), the Centre de Promotion des Exportations (CEPEX), CONNECT International, in addition to several African and regional economic organizations and stakeholders.
