Kleek Developments has signed a hotel management agreement with IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hospitality companies, for Crowne Plaza New Cairo, a 250-room hotel located in the Sixth Settlement. The property is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2031, marking a new addition to the hospitality sector in East Cairo.
The agreement reflects the growing investment momentum in New Cairo and the increasing demand for high-quality hospitality experiences that cater to both business and leisure travelers. The project is designed to provide an integrated environment combining accommodation, workspaces, meetings, dining, and leisure facilities.
Crowne Plaza New Cairo to Introduce Flexible Spaces for Modern Travelers
Hussein Dawoud, Founder and Chairman of Kleek Developments, expressed his pleasure at partnering with IHG Hotels & Resorts to launch Crowne Plaza New Cairo, noting that the project reflects the company’s confidence in one of the capital’s most dynamic and rapidly developing areas.
Dawoud explained that the hotel aims to respond to the growing demand for premium hospitality services by establishing a high-quality destination that complements the ongoing urban and economic development of New Cairo.
He added that Crowne Plaza New Cairo has been designed to meet the evolving needs of modern travelers through flexible spaces that enable guests to transition seamlessly between work, business meetings, and leisure activities throughout their stay.
Plaza Workspace and WorkLife Room to Enhance the Guest Experience
The hotel will introduce Crowne Plaza’s signature Plaza Workspace concept, which reimagines the traditional hotel lobby by incorporating dedicated spaces tailored to guests’ personal and professional needs.
The concept is intended to provide a flexible environment where guests can work, connect, and interact in a setting that supports productivity and comfort.
The property will also feature the WorkLife Room, a room concept that separates working, relaxing, and sleeping areas. This design aims to provide greater flexibility, comfort, and seamless connectivity, allowing guests to balance professional commitments with personal relaxation.
These features reflect the evolving expectations of hospitality customers, particularly business travelers seeking accommodation that combines practical work facilities with the comfort and services of an international hotel.
Sixth Settlement Location Supports Business and Residential Growth
Crowne Plaza New Cairo is situated within a mixed-use development area experiencing rapid growth, positioning the hotel to serve businesses, commercial activities, and expanding residential communities across East Cairo.
According to Dawoud, continued investment in infrastructure, population growth, and increasing demand from local and international companies have helped establish New Cairo as one of Egypt’s fastest-growing urban areas.
The development is expected to benefit from the area’s expanding business activity and growing need for hospitality services that accommodate corporate visitors, professionals, families, and leisure travelers.
The hotel’s location in the Sixth Settlement also supports the broader development of East Cairo, where new residential communities and commercial projects are contributing to demand for integrated hospitality and lifestyle destinations.
Four Dining Outlets and Six Event Spaces Planned
Crowne Plaza New Cairo is planned to offer a range of guest rooms and suites, alongside four food and beverage outlets designed to provide varied dining and social experiences.
The planned outlets will include an all-day dining restaurant offering a diverse selection of culinary experiences, a specialty restaurant, a lobby lounge, and a beverage bar.
The hotel will also feature six dedicated meeting and event spaces, including meeting rooms and a ballroom. These facilities are intended to accommodate a wide range of occasions, from corporate meetings and business planning sessions to private celebrations and special events.
In addition, guests will have access to a variety of leisure and lifestyle facilities, including a swimming pool, fitness center, spa, and retail outlets.
The combination of accommodation, dining, meeting facilities, and leisure amenities is designed to position the property as an integrated destination for business and leisure travelers visiting New Cairo.
IHG Highlights Rising Demand for Hospitality in New Cairo
Haitham Mattar, President of IHG Hotels & Resorts for India, the Middle East and Africa, highlighted the rapid growth of New Cairo, pointing to continued demand from businesses, emerging communities, and infrastructure projects that are strengthening the area’s position as an increasingly important business destination.
Mattar noted that this development is creating new reasons to visit East Cairo and increasing demand for high-quality hospitality experiences delivered by leading international brands.
He emphasized that the Crowne Plaza brand is well suited to the market, as modern travelers increasingly seek hotel experiences that combine work and relaxation within a single stay.
According to Mattar, guests are looking for destinations that allow them to remain productive, connect with others, and enjoy leisure activities without compromising comfort or convenience.
Crowne Plaza New Cairo Supports IHG’s Expansion in Egypt
The agreement forms part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ ongoing efforts to expand its presence in Egypt, a market that continues to offer opportunities for hospitality investment amid urban development and growing demand for accommodation.
IHG currently operates 10 hotels in Egypt, while its development pipeline includes 28 hotels, underscoring the country’s strategic importance to the group’s regional growth plans.
The addition of Crowne Plaza New Cairo is expected to strengthen IHG’s presence in East Cairo and expand the availability of internationally branded hospitality services in a rapidly developing business and residential hub.
With its planned opening in the first quarter of 2031, the 250-room property is set to bring together contemporary accommodation, flexible workspaces, meeting and event facilities, dining options, and leisure amenities, reflecting the changing needs of travelers and the continued development of New Cairo’s hospitality market.
