Rock Developments Celebrates Graduation of First ACC Program Cohort

Rock Developments celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of its ACC educational and vocational training program, delivered in partnership with Sweden’s Helsjön Folkhögskola, following a full year of academic learning and hands-on training for young participants from several Egyptian governorates.

The program was designed around the learning-by-doing approach, combining academic knowledge with practical experiences to help participants develop personal, professional, and life skills.

ACC Program Combines Academic Learning with Hands-On Training

Throughout the year-long program, students participated in an educational experience centered on practical learning and teamwork within small groups.

The program featured a wide range of hands-on activities and projects, including agriculture, carpentry, weaving, accessories making, and music, alongside studies in languages, mathematics, and science.

Students also developed key skills such as critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and responsibility, through an educational model that emphasized participation, practice, and real-life experiences.

Students Showcase Projects and Experiences During Graduation Ceremony

During the graduation ceremony, students presented a selection of the projects and practical experiences they completed throughout the year. They also shared insights into their educational journey and discussed the skills they developed during their participation in the program.

The ACC Program brought together young participants from different Egyptian governorates and featured trainers from leading European universities, reflecting the partnership between Rock Developments and Helsjön Folkhögskola.

Rock Developments Highlights Impact of Small-Group Learning

Eng. Parthena Doss, Board Member at Rock Developments, said the graduation of the first cohort marks the successful completion of a full year of the ACC Program.

She noted that students benefited from a comprehensive educational experience and demonstrated significant progress in several areas, including self-confidence, communication and self-expression, teamwork, and responsibility.

Doss explained that the program was structured around small groups of no more than 16 students, allowing for direct interaction and individualized support throughout the learning process.

She added that integrating practical activities and real-life experiences into the educational process enabled the program to combine academic knowledge with hands-on application, creating a participatory learning environment designed to equip students to make a positive impact on their communities.

Helsjön Folkhögskola: ACC Goes Beyond Traditional Education

Mr. Peter Landgren, Educational Director of Helsjön Folkhögskola in Egypt, said the program successfully provided a comprehensive educational experience that goes beyond the boundaries of traditional education.

He highlighted the students’ progress in critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as their growing ability to take responsibility and work effectively as part of a team.

Landgren added that the graduation ceremony featured presentations of students’ projects and personal experiences, alongside success stories demonstrating the tangible impact of the program on their lives.

He noted that these outcomes provide a strong foundation for expanding the ACC Program in the coming period.

ACC Program Supports Personal Growth and Self-Expression

Katja Beksir, a key figure behind the ACC Program, said the initiative stands apart from conventional education through its distinctive learning philosophy.

She explained that students are encouraged to express themselves and integrate their own experiences into the learning journey, helping create a supportive environment that promotes personal growth, confidence, and holistic development.

Beksir added that the graduation ceremony clearly demonstrated the transformation experienced by the students, particularly their ability to confidently present their experiences and projects before an audience.
