Foodics, the leading restaurant management and fintech solutions provider in the MENA region, has successfully concluded the third edition of its annual summer internship program, “Foodics Folks”, reaffirming its commitment to developing young talent and supporting the future growth of Egypt’s food and beverage (F&B) industry.

The program reflects Foodics’ ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional experience by providing university students with practical exposure to the workplace and the evolving technologies shaping the modern restaurant sector.

Foodics Folks Provides Practical Career Pathways for University Students

Designed for university students aged 18 to 21, the month-long Foodics Folks Internship Program offered participants an immersive learning experience combining corporate exposure at Foodics’ Egypt office with hands-on training inside real restaurant environments.

Building on the success of previous editions, the program continued to provide students with valuable opportunities to explore diverse career paths within the food and beverage industry while gaining practical knowledge and professional skills.

The first phase of the program included two weeks of hands-on training at Foodics’ Egypt office, where interns worked with several key departments, including:

  • People Operations (HR)
  • Sales Coordination
  • Marketing
  • Accounting
  • Customer Onboarding
  • Software Engineering
  • Customer Success

Through this experience, students gained firsthand insights into how different business functions contribute to restaurant growth, operational efficiency, and digital transformation within the F&B sector.

Hands-On Restaurant Training with Foodics-Powered Partners

The second phase of the Foodics Folks Internship Program focused on practical training across a diverse group of Foodics-powered restaurant partners, allowing participants to experience real-world restaurant operations.

This year’s program featured a distinguished lineup of partner brands, including:

Abou Shakra, Vasko, Maine, Canelé Patisserie, Takosan, Karak Boy, Hird’s, Süss, and Sno.

During this phase, interns developed a deeper understanding of restaurant operations, customer service, workflow management, and the role of technology in improving efficiency and supporting business growth.

Developing Technical and Soft Skills for Future Careers

Beyond operational and technical knowledge, Foodics Folks placed strong emphasis on developing essential workplace skills, including:

  • Communication.
  • Teamwork.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Adaptability.
  • Customer-focused thinking.

These skills helped participants build a strong foundation for their future careers and better understand the requirements of today’s fast-changing professional environment.

Foodics: Foodics Folks Supports the Next Generation of F&B Leaders

Commenting on the program’s conclusion, Belal Zahran, Chief Revenue Officer at Foodics, highlighted the strong demand for the initiative and its positive impact on participating students.

He stated that the program has created meaningful opportunities for young talents interested in the F&B industry, helping them transition from academic environments into professional workplaces.

Zahran added that through Foodics Folks, the company aims to equip students with the skills, experience, and mindset required to become future leaders in the food and beverage sector.

Supporting Youth Development and the Future of Hospitality

Zahran noted that when Foodics launched the program two years ago, structured opportunities for students to gain practical experience within the F&B sector were still limited.

Today, the growing number of institutions investing in similar initiatives reflects a shared commitment to supporting young professionals and contributing to a stronger and more sustainable future for the hospitality and food and beverage industries.

Foodics Introduces Students to the Future of Restaurant Technology

As part of its broader mission to support the growth and modernization of the restaurant industry, Foodics Folks introduced students to the digital technologies driving today’s F&B businesses.

Through their interaction with Foodics teams and restaurant partners, participants gained practical insights into how intuitive digital solutions help restaurants:

  • Streamline daily operations.
  • Improve operational efficiency.
  • Enhance customer experiences.
  • Support sustainable business growth.

The program also highlighted the increasing role of technology in driving innovation across the hospitality sector and preparing restaurants for the future.
