10th of Ramadan City, Egypt – Egyptian technology startup Simplex, specialized in the manufacturing and assembly of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery, has officially inaugurated its new industrial manufacturing plant in 10th of Ramadan City with an investment of $50 million, marking a significant milestone in Egypt’s industrial development and the localization of advanced manufacturing technologies.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, alongside leading investors, international partners, diplomats, and senior government officials
. Guests were welcomed by Ahmed Shaaban, Founder and Chairman of Simplex, and Mohamed Mansour, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer.
Second Factory Officially Opens as Third Facility Begins
During the ceremony, attendees toured the company’s newly completed second factory, which spans 40,000 square meters, exploring its advanced production lines, assembly divisions, and state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies.
Simplex also unveiled its latest generation of CNC machinery. The official launch concluded with the placement of the “Proudly Made in Egypt” label on the newly introduced machine, signaling the start of commercial production at the facility.
In another key milestone, company officials and guests laid the foundation stone for Simplex’s third manufacturing plant, reaffirming the company’s long-term expansion strategy and commitment to supporting Egypt’s industrial sector.
Strategic Expansion Across Arab Markets
As part of its regional growth strategy, Simplex signed new partnership and agency agreements in Jordan and Kuwait, strengthening the presence of Egyptian engineering solutions across Arab markets and reinforcing the company’s international expansion plans.
From Graduation Project to Global Industrial Brand
Ahmed Shaaban, Founder and Chairman of Simplex, said the company’s journey reflects the potential of Egyptian innovation, noting that Simplex began as a university graduation project before evolving into an industrial enterprise exporting to 34 countries worldwide.
He emphasized that the latest expansion demonstrates the ability of Egyptian manufacturing to compete globally while contributing to national economic growth.
Mohamed Mansour, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer, stated that the company’s ambition is to become a leading global manufacturer of CNC machinery, adding that the new investment will significantly increase production capacity and strengthen the company’s international competitiveness.
More Than 400 Employees and Sales Exceeding $100 Million
Over the years, Simplex has developed into one of the region’s leading CNC machinery manufacturers, employing more than 400 engineers, technicians, and administrative professionals.
The company serves more than 4,523 customers across domestic and international markets, while cumulative sales have surpassed $100 million.
The latest expansion is expected to create more than 1,000 direct jobs in addition to over 10,000 indirect employment opportunities, further supporting Egypt’s industrial ecosystem.
Supporting Egypt’s Manufacturing Strategy
The new production facility is expected to deliver several strategic benefits, including increasing manufacturing precision and quality, doubling production capacity to meet growing demand, accelerating production and delivery schedules, reducing dependence on imported manufacturing solutions, and enabling the development of more advanced industrial products.
These efforts are expected to further strengthen the competitiveness of products carrying the “Made in Egypt” label in regional and international markets.
Currently, 15% of Simplex’s total production is exported to international markets across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, with the company aiming to significantly increase export volumes following its latest regional partnership agreements.
