On behalf of H.E. Eng. Raafat Hindy, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), attended the inauguration of the Coca-Cola HBC Digital Hub in Cairo.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Zoran Bogdanovic, CEO of Coca-Cola HBC, alongside senior executives and government officials.
The new Digital Hub represents one of Coca-Cola HBC’s most significant long-term investments in Egypt and reinforces the country’s growing position as a leading destination for digital services exports and high-value outsourcing.
A Strategic Digital Hub Supporting 27 International Markets
The Coca-Cola HBC Digital Hub has been established as a global digital delivery center supporting the company’s operations across 27 markets throughout Europe and Africa.
The investment reflects increasing international confidence in Egypt’s highly skilled workforce, competitive business environment, and expanding digital economy, strengthening the country’s role as a regional and global hub for IT outsourcing and digital transformation services.
Advanced Digital Capabilities Driving Global Operations
The Cairo-based hub delivers a broad portfolio of advanced digital capabilities, including:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Software engineering and application development
- Quality assurance and software testing
- User experience (UI/UX) design
- Agile delivery and digital product development
These services will enable Coca-Cola HBC to accelerate innovation, improve operational efficiency, and develop business-critical digital solutions that support its international operations.
250 Digital Specialists Today, Expanding to 450 by 2027
The Digital Hub currently employs approximately 250 highly skilled technology professionals, with plans to increase its workforce to 450 specialists by 2027.
The center is expected to generate approximately $34 million annually in Egypt’s digital services exports, further strengthening the country’s rapidly growing outsourcing industry and knowledge-based economy.
ITIDA Highlights Egypt’s Competitive Advantage
Speaking during the inauguration, Eng. Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of ITIDA, described the launch of the Digital Hub as an important milestone in the partnership between the Egyptian government and multinational companies.
He noted that the project reflects the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s ongoing strategy to attract foreign investment, develop digital talent, and expand Egypt’s digital exports sector.
Elzaher explained that cooperation with Coca-Cola HBC began in late 2024, with ITIDA playing a central role in showcasing Egypt’s competitive advantages and reinforcing its reputation as one of the region’s leading destinations for outsourcing and global digital service delivery.
He also highlighted that both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding during the Global Offshoring Summit, aimed at supporting the company’s expansion plans, enhancing digital export capabilities, and developing specialized talent.
Supporting Egypt’s Vision for Digital Growth
According to Elzaher, the inauguration demonstrates the success of the partnership, and the increasing confidence global companies place in Egypt’s ability to host and scale world-class digital delivery centers.
He emphasized that Egypt’s outsourcing sector continues to experience strong momentum under the country’s Digital Egypt Strategy, launched in 2022.
During 2025 alone, Egypt signed agreements with 55 international and local companies, creating more than 75,000 job opportunities over three years, with Coca-Cola HBC among the participating companies.
