64 New Graduates Join Egypt’s Growing Hospitality Workforce with 98.5% Success Rate
The Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and the German Hotel School El Gouna celebrated the graduation of 64 students from the Class of 2025/2026, following their successful completion of examinations accredited by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, achieving an outstanding success rate of 98.5%.
With this new cohort, the total number of graduates since the school’s establishment has reached 1,112 qualified professionals in the hospitality sector. Many alumni are now employed in leading hotels and tourism establishments in Egypt and abroad, including approximately 200 graduates working in Germany.

A Dual Education Model Linking Training with Real Hospitality Industry Needs
The Sawiris Foundation continues to support the German Hotel School El Gouna as part of its long-term commitment to advancing technical and vocational education as a key driver for youth employment and sustainable development.
Since 2017, the Foundation has invested more than EGP 289 million in developing the school into a leading model of hospitality-focused technical education in Egypt.
The school follows a dual education system that combines classroom learning with hands-on training in top hotels across El Gouna and Hurghada, including Orascom Hotels. This approach equips students with real-world experience aligned with international hospitality standards.

Speaking on behalf of Dr. Walid El-Barqi, Ms. Magda Hanna highlighted that the graduates’ success reflects the effectiveness of Egypt’s national vision for developing technical education and linking it to labor market needs.
She emphasized that the Red Sea Governorate places strong focus on “empowerment and training” as core pillars of sustainable development, describing graduates as “ambassadors of Egyptian tourism equipped with exceptional practical skills and global competitiveness.”

In her remarks, Ms. Laila Hosny, Executive Director of the Sawiris Foundation, stated:
“What we are celebrating today goes beyond graduation. It reflects the success of young people who, through quality education and practical training, were able to build promising professional futures. The German Hotel School El Gouna has demonstrated the value of combining theory with hands-on experience, and we are proud of graduates from Syria, Eritrea, and Somalia whose journeys highlight the power of education in creating opportunity.”
She also emphasized the importance of long-term partnerships with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, Rahn Education, Orascom Development, and other stakeholders.
German Hotel School El Gouna Achieves 98.5% Success Rate
Mr. Islam Kindsfater, Headmaster of the German Hotel School El Gouna, described the 2026 graduating class as one of the most successful in the school’s history, with a 98.5% pass rate—the second highest ever achieved.
He noted that this achievement reflects the strong cooperation between the Leipzig Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Sawiris Foundation, Rahn Education, and hospitality industry partners.

Ms. Patricia Siebert, Head of Examination at the Leipzig Chamber of Commerce and Industry, praised the graduates for their dedication and professionalism, stressing that the program represents a successful model of international cooperation in vocational education.
She highlighted that the long-standing partnership between German and Egyptian institutions continues to create real opportunities and contribute to the development of qualified professionals for the global hospitality industry.

The German Hotel School El Gouna is Egypt’s first internationally accredited private hospitality school and is recognized in Germany. It also offers a technical diploma accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education.
