 In a major boost to foreign investment in Egypt’s industrial sector, Orascom

Industrial Parks (Orascom IP) has signed a strategic agreement with Guide Hong Kong, a leading

Chinese automotive technology company, to establish a new manufacturing project in the Suez Canal

Economic Zone The project, Guide Automotive Technology, will be developed within the Sokhna

Industrial Development Complex (SIDC)The agreement was finalized during an official signing

ceremony held in the New Administrative Capital, underscoring Egypt’s growing appeal as a regional

manufacturing hub

$64 Million Investment to Establish Advanced Manufacturing Facility

Under the agreement, Orascom IP has allocated a 70,000-square-meter land plot for the construction

of an integrated manufacturing facility The project is expected to create approximately 1,000 direct job

opportunities, strengthen local supply chains, and support the transfer of advanced technology to

Egypt’s industrial ecosystemGuide Automotive Technology will invest $13.6 million in the first phase

of the project, with total investments expected to reach $63.9 million by the end of the third phase

The facility will operate in three production phases, focusing on

Electric vehicle manufacturing

Lithium-ion automotive battery production

Reverse osmosis membrane manufacturing

The project is considered strategically significant for Egypt’s economy, aligning with

the country’s push to localize advanced industries and expand industrial exports

Orascom IP: Reinforcing Sokhna as a Regional Manufacturing Destination

Eng Amr El Batrik, CEO of Orascom IP, described the agreement as a “strong example” of the

company’s role in enabling industrial investment and generating sustainable economic impact

He emphasized that the partnership reflects growing confidence in Egypt’s investment climate and

reinforces Sokhna’s position as a regional destination for advanced manufacturing El Batrik also stated

that the project will be a key addition to the industrial ecosystem in Sokhna and will act as a catalyst for

further foreign direct investment (FDI)

El Batrik noted that Orascom IP is committed to attracting high-value industrial investments aligned

with Egypt’s vision for sustainable development and advanced manufacturing The new project is
