His Excellency Ali Abdi Awari, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, participated in the farewell and appreciation ceremony held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in honor of Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, and Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General, on the occasion of the conclusion of their terms of office.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Ali Abdi Awari presented commemorative shields to Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Hossam Zaki in recognition of their sincere efforts and outstanding contributions to advancing joint Arab action, as well as their role in strengthening the League of Arab States and promoting cooperation and coordination among its member states.
The Somali Ambassador also presented a commemorative shield in honor of the late Ambassador Mohamed Kamal El-Din Salah, in recognition of his national sacrifices and distinguished diplomatic career, and in tribute to his dedication to serving his country and strengthening the fraternal relations between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Arab Republic of Egypt. The commemorative shield was received by Ms. Laila, the late ambassador’s daughter and the wife of Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, as a gesture of gratitude and respect for his legacy and the sacrifices he made in the line of diplomatic duty.
Ambassador Ali Abdi Awari emphasized that the occasion reflects the deep appreciation for the sincere efforts made by Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Hossam Zaki throughout their years of service in supporting joint Arab action and enhancing the role of the League of Arab States in addressing Arab and regional issues. He noted that honoring figures who have served the Arab nation and commemorating those who sacrificed their lives in the service of their countries embodies the values of loyalty and gratitude shared among Arab states.
The Somali Ambassador concluded by wishing Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Hossam Zaki continued success in their future endeavors, expressing his profound appreciation for their dedicated service and affirming that their contributions will remain a source of pride and appreciation for the member states of the League of Arab States.
