Nariman Talal is considered one of the most prominent young figures in the field of cultural fashion design in Egypt. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Business Administration at Ain Shams University and the founder of the CLE initiative, which aims to promote different cultures within Egyptian society. She also founded the first brand specialized in Korean hanbok in Egypt and the Middle East under the name “Hanboknary.”
Nariman has successfully created a distinctive artistic identity through her deep passion for global cultures, especially South Korean culture. She dedicated years to developing her sewing and fashion design skills, becoming one of the first designers specializing in presenting Korean hanbok with a vision that combines authentic Korean heritage with a modern Egyptian touch.
Her designs have received widespread admiration from Egyptian, Korean, and international audiences thanks to her artistic style, which reflects the spirit of cultural exchange through fashion. She was also honored with the opportunity to present a traditional hanbok design as a gift to the wife of the former President of South Korea during her visit to Egypt, an experience she described as one of the most important moments in her professional journey.
The impact of her work has extended to major cultural events as well. She designed a traditional hanbok for the well-known Korean writer Byung Lim Ji during one of her book-signing events attended by the Egyptian audience, reflecting the reach of Nariman’s creations among prominent cultural figures from South Korea.
Nariman Talal Salama has received numerous certificates of appreciation in recognition of her role in strengthening cultural ties between Egypt and South Korea. She strongly believes that art and fashion are powerful tools for building bridges of communication and mutual understanding between nations. Among her most notable recognitions is a certificate of appreciation from Jeonju University, in addition to receiving consecutive certificates of appreciation for four years from Korea.net, the platform affiliated with the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in recognition of her continuous efforts in promoting Korean culture. She also earned a certificate from the K-Influencer Academy after succeeding as a cultural content creator through her YouTube channel, which she used as a platform to introduce Korean culture and encourage cultural exchange between peoples.
Her activities are not limited to fashion design alone. Nariman also organizes cultural events and free workshops dedicated to teaching Korean handicrafts, offering hanbok-wearing experiences, and introducing the history of Korean fashion, with the aim of spreading cultural awareness and encouraging young people to embrace creativity and openness toward different civilizations.
During her recent participation in the “Art Without Borders” exhibition, which was held from May 12 to May 17 in the presence of several diplomatic and cultural figures, the South Korean section attracted remarkable attention from visitors throughout the exhibition days. Many attendees were eager to take photos with the designs and learn more about the details inspired by Korean culture. Egyptian and international visitors also expressed their admiration for the creative concepts presented by Nariman, especially the fusion of traditional Korean aesthetics with modern Egyptian touches, which gave the designs a distinctive artistic character that captured the attention of both the audience and diplomats participating in the event.
The designs featured Egyptian fabrics combined with details inspired by traditional Korean art, elegant embroidery, white floral elements, and delicate decorative threads, delivering a message that fashion is not merely about appearance, but rather an artistic language for human connection and cultural understanding.
Nariman confirmed that this participation was one of the experiences closest to her heart, especially as it marked her second consecutive year participating in this international art event, which aims to emphasize that art has the power to transcend borders, languages, and cultural differences.
She explained that her participation came with the support of the South Korean Embassy in Egypt, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in appreciation of her ongoing efforts in presenting Korean culture through the world of fashion and design.
She also expressed her great happiness at being honored during the opening ceremony on stage by Dr. Naglaa, the wife of the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, in recognition of her role in supporting cultural exchange between the two countries.
Nariman further shared her honor in welcoming the Acting Korean Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Kim Il Hoon, and his wife, who supported her designs and joined her during the moment she received her certificate of appreciation. She emphasized that such moments serve as a strong motivation for her to continue achieving greater success.
At the conclusion of her speech, Nariman expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported and believed in her dream from the very beginning, affirming that she will continue her journey of spreading the message of love and cultural exchange between Egypt and Korea through art and fashion.
