Engy El-Sherqawy, Sales Manager at Gulf Air, confirmed that the airline continues to strengthen its presence in the Egyptian market, which she described as one of the key markets within its extensive network. She noted that Gulf Air currently operates 14 weekly flights between Cairo and Bahrain, providing passengers with multiple travel options and connecting Egypt with a wide range of regional and international destinations.
El-Sherqawy said Gulf Air has a long-standing history spanning more than 75 years, during which it has established itself as the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain and played an important role in connecting people, countries, and cultures, while supporting travel, tourism, and trade across the region and international markets.
She explained that Gulf Air’s network extends across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa, and North America, highlighting that Bahrain International Airport serves as the airline’s main hub and an important gateway allowing passengers to conveniently continue their journeys to numerous destinations worldwide.
She added that passengers traveling from Egypt can benefit from Gulf Air’s extensive network through its Bahrain hub, including a daily flight to Bangkok, strengthening connectivity between the Egyptian and Thai markets and providing more opportunities for travelers wishing to explore destinations across Asia.
El-Sherqawy emphasized Gulf Air’s commitment to supporting the Thai tourism market and strengthening cooperation with its partners in the travel and tourism sector by providing a wider range of travel options and services that meet passengers’ needs.
She also highlighted Gulf Air’s continued fleet modernization, with the airline operating modern aircraft including the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and Airbus A321neo, alongside the Airbus A321, supporting the company’s efforts to deliver a more comfortable and enhanced travel experience.
El-Sherqawy noted that Gulf Air received the 2026 APEX World Class Airline Award with a four-star rating, describing the recognition as a reflection of the airline’s continued efforts to enhance the passenger experience and improve its cabins, fleet, services, and digital solutions.
Regarding the onboard travel experience, El-Sherqawy explained that Gulf Air places significant emphasis on passenger comfort across all travel classes. Business Class offers comfortable seats, spacious surroundings, and a comprehensive range of services designed to provide passengers with a premium and comfortable journey, while Economy Class focuses on delivering high levels of comfort and relaxation throughout the flight.
She also revealed that Gulf Air has recently launched Wi-Fi connectivity onboard its aircraft, allowing passengers to stay connected and access the internet during their journey, with different service options available to meet individual passenger needs.
In addition, she said the airline operates three dedicated lounges for premium passengers in Bahrain, London, and Dubai, with access based on the passenger’s travel class and membership status.
