The Egyptian community in France held a special ceremony to honor Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Egypt’s Ambassador to France, on the occasion of the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in Paris.
The event was attended by prominent members of the Egyptian community—including business leaders, academics, professionals, and media representatives—who delivered speeches praising the Ambassador’s significant contributions throughout his tenure.
Bilateral Relations
Speaking on behalf of the community, Dr. Adel El-Masry, former Egyptian Tourism Counselor in Paris, highlighted Ambassador Youssef’s distinguished efforts in serving Egyptians residing in France, as well as his role in strengthening bilateral relations between Egypt and France across political, economic, and cultural fields.
He also underscored the Ambassador’s contribution to the success of French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Egypt, a visit that positively impacted Egypt’s tourism sector and boosted tourist arrivals from EU countries. Dr. El-Masry further noted the Ambassador’s support for the nomination of Dr. Khaled El-Anany for the presidency of UNESCO, along with his continued facilitation of consular and administrative services for Egyptians living in France.
Support for Young Scholars
The speech also highlighted Ambassador Youssef’s commitment to supporting Egyptian students and scholarship holders in France, including the inauguration of the “Egyptian House” at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris for the first time—an initiative that strengthened ties between the community and the embassy.
Dr. El-Masry concluded by affirming that Ambassador Alaa Youssef succeeded in fostering harmony and close connection between the community and the embassy, earning deep appreciation and respect from all. The ceremony, he noted, was a well-deserved recognition of the Ambassador’s achievements
